3 Belgian companies will present their move to the Cloud on 3 different Cloud providers. War stories means not only the success stories, but also the struggles and learnings along the way.

Tim Bogaert and Gert Leenders represent "De Persgroup" and the move to Lambda in AWS. Alex Van Boxel will represent "Vente-Exclusive.com" on Google Cloud and their focus on data and Michaël Hompus will cover his Azure experience.

He loves Java, Python and Go. Gert has a DevOps mindset and a focus on Cloud Computing, AWS in particular. Furthermore he’s an enthusiast of Infrastructure as Code in general.

When it comes to architecture Gert’s current interest goes to Serverless, Resilience Engineering, GitOps, Microservices and Containers.

He loves talking about technology and sharing his knowledge through mentoring, writing articles and public speaking. He is also co-organizing GDG Cloud Belgium.

Tim Bogaert started his career as a programmer at De Persgroep. He became Lead Architect in 2010 and is Chief Technology Officer since 2015 guiding Technology in an IT department of 50 squads (450 people).

He strongly believes technology plays a very important role in delivering business value. During his career he noticed there was a lack on good training opportunities in Europe which close the gap between the theory in the books and doing it in practice.
